This event has been sponsored by the Kern County Farm Bureau since 1984 and has significantly grown to over 2,000 students each day. The goal of the event is to bridge the farm to table gap for 2nd – 4th grade students by providing a range of educational exhibits that teach them where their food comes from. During Farm Day in the City, students in attendance will experience exhibits ranging from livestock, farm machinery, to various crops. Exhibitors are comprised of local farmers, ranchers, agricultural organizations, and high school FFA students who have a passion for agriculture education. The students are given the opportunity to experience outdoor demonstrations with a variety of livestock as well as an array of indoor exhibits that provide games, educational activities, and giveaways.
The Kern County Farm Bureau stands as a pillar of support for local agriculture and our community. Through collaboration and steadfast advocacy, we stand alongside farmers and ranchers, ensuring they have the support needed to keep agriculture thriving.
