Farm Day In The City 2026 (Day 2)

Date: March 5, 2026
Time: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Location: 1142 S P St, Bakersfield, CA, USA

WHAT IS FARM DAY IN THE CITY?

This event has been sponsored by the Kern County Farm Bureau since 1984 and has significantly grown to over 2,000 students each day. The goal of the event is to bridge the farm to table gap for 2nd – 4th grade students by providing a range of educational exhibits that teach them where their food comes from. During Farm Day in the City, students in attendance will experience exhibits ranging from livestock, farm machinery, to various crops. Exhibitors are comprised of local farmers, ranchers, agricultural organizations, and high school FFA students who have a passion for agriculture education. The students are given the opportunity to experience outdoor demonstrations with a variety of livestock as well as an array of indoor exhibits that provide games, educational activities, and giveaways.

In order to experience all of Farm Day, we suggest that you spend at least 2.5 hours at the event, which does not include time to eat lunch. All classes are invited to bring sack lunches to eat at the fairgrounds. We understand if you must leave early to eat at the school, but this is an option many teachers find helpful for making the most of your time at the fairgrounds.

HOW DOES MY CLASS ATTEND?

Check with your school and get together with other teachers to decide which of the two days fits best with your schedule. If you find later in the year that you must change days, just let us know. Of course, you should also check with your bus/transportation department to see when buses are available. Fill in the registration form by clicking the link below or email us at kcfb@kerncfb.com. We will distribute additional event details as we get to your field trip representatives a few weeks prior to the event on what to expect and where to go once you are at the fairgrounds.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE EMAIL KCFB@KERNCFB.COM or CALL 661-397-9635.
