At Kern County Farm Bureau, we’re proud to highlight the dedicated, hardworking individuals who help guide and support our organization. This month, we’re highlighting Director Daniel Terry and the experiences and values that have shaped his career and involvement in the agricultural community.

Growing up in Wasco, Daniel was surrounded by agriculture and the people who make it possible. With generations of family involvement in both the industry and the community, he developed an early appreciation for agriculture and the important role it plays throughout Kern County.
Today, Daniel serves as Senior Vice President and Director of Agricultural Products for HM Holloway. In his role, he leads both Holloway Ag Services and Lost Hills Mining, overseeing everything from material production and new project development to sales and customer relationships. He enjoys the diversity of the work and appreciates the unique perspective that comes from being involved in every step of the process.
Through Holloway’s operations, he helps manage a 3,000-acre mine in Lost Hills that serves the agricultural community, something many local residents have likely driven past countless times without realizing its connection to agriculture.
One of the things Daniel enjoys most about working in agriculture is the opportunity to work alongside honest, hardworking people to solve challenges and find solutions. He also values the perspective agriculture provides.
“I appreciate the reminder that many parts of this business are out of our hands,” Daniel shared. “It forces me to remember where our successes really come from.”

When asked what advice he would give someone interested in pursuing a career in agriculture, Daniel emphasized the importance of building relationships and learning from others.
“Make friends and listen,” he said. “There is so much wisdom out there already from people who have been through different seasons in this industry, and if you allow them to speak, they will share that with you.”
Daniel’s decision to become involved with Kern County Farm Bureau was driven by a desire to give back to a community that has supported his family for many years.
“The community has been very welcoming and great to my family over the years, and I wanted to try and give back,” Daniel said. “It is a great community, and I want to help maintain that.”
We are grateful for Daniel’s service on the Kern County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and for his ongoing commitment to supporting agriculture, strengthening community connections, and helping ensure a strong future for Kern County agriculture.
The Kern County Farm Bureau stands as a pillar of support for local agriculture and our community. Through collaboration and steadfast advocacy, we stand alongside farmers and ranchers, ensuring they have the support needed to keep agriculture thriving.
Our mission is to preserve agriculture as a cornerstone of our community, safeguarding its future and educating the next generation on the vital role it plays in all our lives.
