Whether you represent a community involved in the production of food products, are home to one of the ports that ships California-grown products all over the world, or are one of the 38 million California consumers of the food, fiber or foliage we produce, you have a stake in the future of California farms and ranches.
With more than 400 different commodities produced in California, Farm Bureau is committed to helping consumers understand where their food comes from, the challenges associated with producing a safe, affordable food supply and ensuring consumer confidence in California-grown products.
Everyone is eligible to apply for Farm Bureau membership and receive the many benefits and services available. When you join, you are applying for membership in the Kern County Farm Bureau. All members receive the Farm Newspaper produced exclusively for Kern County Farm Bureau members. Farmers and ranchers who receive income from production agriculture join as Voting Members and receive the weekly Ag Alert®, California’s number one agricultural trade journal. Voting Members are also eligible to sign up for the Monday Update, Kern County’s weekly digital agricultural update. All others join as Sustaining Members and receive the bimonthly California Bountiful, filled with useful information and background on food production, home gardening and other subjects. Businesses (agriculturally related and non-agriculturally related) may join as BusinessMembers. Business members receive the same benefits as Voting and Sustaining members plus all Business members are listed in the Business section of our newspaper and website.

By Mail – Complete and mail an application form to the Kern County Farm Bureau, 1800 30th Street Suite 390, Bakersfield CA 93301.
Online – New members may join Farm Bureau online, through a secure Webservice. Be ready to provide name, address, phone and other pertinent information and have either a Visa® or MasterCard® ready for dues payment.
